What’s On at Greenwich Market

2017 Lantern Parade and Christmas Lights On

The Christmas festivities at Greenwich Market begin with the local school children’s lantern procession and the switching on of the Christmas sparkly lights on Wednesday 22 November. The parade will start at 4pm at The Visitor Centre, Old Royal Naval College. Led by a jazz band from Trinity Laban and The Mayor, the parade will walk through the grounds, into Cutty Sark Gardens and into the Market at 5pm for the big Christmas Lights On. Characters from this year’s Greenwich Theatre pantomime, Cinderella, will switch on the lights. Afterwards local children will perform on stage in the Angelina Jandolo Dance Showcase. Children can also visit Father Christmas in his Greenwich Grotto in Durnford Street and discuss their Christmas Wishes.
