Broadway Market Foodie Heaven...

broadwaymarketbanner

The market originally goes back to the days when local farmers brought sheep and other produce into the city. The pie mash cafe Cooke’s and Cat and Mutton Pub date back to those early days. Its current success owes a lot to the efforts of the local community who brought back to life a market that was in danger of dissappearing in the late 80’s

Today Broadway Market on Saturdays is a ecletic mix of tastes and cultures. Its stalls, shops, pubs and eateries offer some of the best food and most original fashion in London. Over a hundred stalls and shops crammed into a little East End street between the Regent’s Canal and London Fields.

Some come for the food..organic meat, fruit and vegetables, fresh seafood or maybe the delicious bread, cakes and cheese. Others scour the rails for vintage bargains.

Its  why many of the people you see there are local and return week after week. Although given its success at reinventing itself yet again the locals now have to share this great market with visitors from further afield.
