A 5 Star Market Experience at The Slow Food & Living Market at Rosewood London
There’s no need to beat around the bush on this matter. The Slow Food & Living Market at the Rosewood London is an absolute stunner. It is actually one of the most prettiest market I have ever visited.
I had been looking forward to visiting the
Slow Food & Living Market for what feels like a long time, so i was delighted to be not just visiting the market, but also experiencing brunch at the Hotel’s Mirror Room.
The Rosewood Hotel is a 5 star affair. It’s opulent and sassy, so it’s only fitting that the market follows in it’s gourmet footsteps. The beautiful Georgian Hotel in Holborn is beautifully English and a real London gem.
Eight Hour Studio, luxury sleepwear. An ethical brand with fair trade suppliers.
The courtyard in which the market is set is so charming. The oak framed stalls, hessian and wooden crates all add to the earthy organics. The market stands proud and bold in this postcard perfect location. There is nothing apologetic about this market, it’s identity is strong. Like the visitors, the traders seemed delighted to be there. You were spoiled by endearing smiles and conversation in true market spirit.

I bought some fabulous face cream from
34.4 Skincare. All of their creams contain beeswax from a community apiary in Hampstead Heath, London. They donate 3.44% of their profits to the Natural Bee Keeping Trust. Director, Elka de Wit below, said the market was perfect for her product.
The charm of the market is clearly contagious. As one trader put it,
“It’s the best market I’ve traded at. The organisers are impeccable and we were welcomed with a nice cup of coffee this morning.”
Like the hotel, the market also offers traders and visitors a touch of luxury and indulgence.

The conscience behind the Slow Food & Living Market is a worthy one. All goods and products sold are sustainable. The produce at the market is selected to be regional, fresh, in-season produce which has been thoughtfully harvested, using responsible growing practices taking into consideration people and planet. The fish is responsibly caught, the meat is pasture-raised and the eggs and dairy are free of GMOs, hormones and antibiotics. Slow Food is all about enjoying and celebrating the pleasure of food with a commitment to the environment and community

Holding a market at a hotel both a novel idea and excellent idea, Given that they have a host of guests hungry to explore London and it’s culture, hosting a market within the hotel is a brilliant idea. As I Love Markets declares “Discover the heart of London, discover London’s Markets.”

This market compliments the hotel perfectly. Better still the hotel have used the market as a way of showcasing the food and produce that can be pleasured at their Sunday brunch offering. All of the food and drink featured at the market can be tasted and experienced first hand over an indulgent 2 or 3 hour sitting in the hotel’s opulent Mirror Rooms.

Brunch at the Mirror Rooms feels like Christmas. In fact unless your accustomed to a 5 * lifestyle, it’s probably better. You are presented with a district of food porn alerts. The cured meats in the photo above where full off juice and flavour f
rom Gastronomica – the board included a selection of beef, pork and wild boar. The sparling wine was Nytimber Classic Curve, a delicate and bubbly toast that slipped down with ease.

Temptations you cannot deny!
Once you have worked the room and have sampled a little (or in my case a lot) of everything, you can move on to your main dish. There was a choice of seabass, salmon or duck, served with seasonal vegetables. I went for the canard below.

It doesn’t end here! Endless delectable desert choices.

Mirror Rooms brunch at Rosewood London is a special experience. After absorbing the scenery, appreciating slow food philosophy, wine and impeccable service, i was feeling royally lightheaded. Rather than leave, i really wish we were checking in. Maybe next time, but before i got out my oyster card and not a room key, just one more go on the chocolate fondue!
